Gender Reassignment Procedure
Dr. Silverman performs female to male (FTM) "top" surgery, also known as bilateral mastectomy. This procedure removes breast tissue and creates a masculine-looking chest contour. This can be accomplished through a variety of incisions, depending on the patient's breast shape, size, and skin elasticity. Breast removal can be performed using a combination of liposuction and direct surgical excision, which may result in very subtle scars to scars along the crease of the breast and around the areola/nipple. Although the latter may be more visible, they are often necessary to obtain the desired contour in a patient with substantial breast tissue. Regardless, Dr. Silverman will discuss which approach will be best suited for you and will help you to meet your surgical goals.
