Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr. Cormier earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ottawa and medical degree from the University of Western Ontario. He returned to the University of Ottawa for his residency in plastic, aesthetic & reconstructive surgery. Throughout training Dr. Cormier demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for precision and innovation, earning accolades for his research and surgical expertise which included mentorship and training from Dr. Silverman since 2017. Dr. Cormier was selected for advanced fellowship training in San Francisco, California at the prestigious Buncke Clinic where he worked with world-renowned aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgeons. Under the guidance of experts in the field across Northern California, he obtained specialized training in microvascular, gender-affirming and facial aesthetic surgery.
As an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa, Dr. Cormier is passionate about research and education. Dr. Cormier attended Harvard University, obtaining his Master’s degree in epidemiology and remains at the forefront of research in the field of cosmetic surgery, microsurgery and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Cormier has authored numerous scientific articles and is frequently invited to present at the national and international conferences.

Dr. Cormier holds surgical and admitting hospital privileges at The Ottawa Hospital including the Civic, General and Riverside campuses. He is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, teaching medical students and plastic surgery residents within the Division of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Cormier leads the gender-affirming surgery program at The Ottawa Hospital, a multi-disciplinary and pioneering surgical program in Canada offering top, bottom and facial surgery.
