Surgical Booking Policies

Financial Policy

We consider it a privilege that you have chosen Ottawa Plastic Surgery! We strongly believe that a good physician/patient relationship is based upon understanding and open communication. The policies outlined below are intended to provide a clear understanding of our Financial Policy.

Fees

The consultation fee for surgical cosmetic patients is $200 plus HST ($226.00) and is non-refundable. This fee may be applied towards future surgery if scheduled within six (6) months of your consultation date.

Surgical Consultation Cancellation Policy

We know your time is valuable, and ours is too.  If you must cancel or change your appointment, we require at least 48 hours notice prior to your appointment. Any cancellation or change made less than 48 hours will result in a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will be equal to 100% of the reserved appointment, which is $200+tax. This amount must be paid to rebook your appointment.

If you are late for your appointment, we may not be able to accommodate you but will try our very best! In the case we are not able to accommodate the late arrival, the same cancellation fee will apply.

Estimates

Following consultation, a customized surgical quote will be provided that accounts for the following expenses:

  • Surgeon fee
  • Anesthesia fee
  • Operating room and nursing fees
  • Cost of surgical garments and/or implants
  • Applicable taxes

Surgical quotes are valid for 6 months from the date of consultation.

Payment Types

Acceptable forms of payment include Visa, MasterCard and debit cards, cash, and bank drafts. We do not accept personal cheques.

Financing

For patients interested in financing options, we are pleased to suggest Credit Medical & Medicard. Credit Medical & Medicard offers competitive interest rates and payment plans ranging from as short as 6 months to up to 6 years. A finance application may be completed online or by calling them directly. These are third-party companies and not affiliated with Ottawa Plastic Surgery. Ottawa Plastic Surgery has no financial relationship with/or responsibility for these institutions.

Scheduling your Procedure

A $1500 non-refundable deposit is required to schedule a surgical procedure. This deposit will be applied to your procedure.

The only exception to this policy is with a note from another physician for health-related cancellation purposes.

When is Payment Due?

Payment in full is due 4 weeks in advance of surgery. Please contact the clinic to ensure your balance is paid at least four (4) weeks in advance via Visa, MasterCard, Bank Draft, Cash, or Medical Financing. Once you’ve paid in full, your surgery is confirmed and can no longer be rescheduled.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

Payment in full is due 4 weeks in advance of surgery. If you wish to cancel surgery less than 4 weeks in advance (and have not at that time paid in full), you will forfeit the deposit paid. Once you’ve paid in full, your surgery is confirmed and can no longer be rescheduled. Any change will be deemed a cancellation subject to the terms outlined below.
If you cancel your surgery within:

  • 4 weeks or more, 75% will be refunded.
  • 3 weeks, 50% will be refunded.
  • 2 weeks, 25% will be refunded.
  • 1 week or less, no fees will be refunded.

Should you wish to reschedule your surgery within the same calendar year, you may do so as long you provide at least 4 weeks’ notice prior to your original surgery date and upon paying a $1500 processing fee.

Please note that the patient can only reschedule a scheduled surgery date one time. If the patient cancels their surgery twice, all paid booking deposits are forfeited and we will not be able to rebook your procedure, or any other procedures in the future.

If surgical delays are incurred on the day of surgery due to reasons of patient non-compliance, (such as not following dietary restrictions as instructed prior to surgery, not following test requirements and recommendations, or presenting late for surgery) then the patient will be responsible for any additional charges incurred as a result of this delay or even be subject to surgical cancellation as above if surgery cannot be performed as scheduled due to above non-compliance.

If a patient requests a change to the surgical plan within 4 weeks of the scheduled surgery, then the patient will be responsible for any additional Operating Room and Anesthetic fees, on top of surgical fees as outlined above.

Health-related exceptions to this policy are the only circumstances accepted and will require a note from your physician detailing the reason for health-related cancellation purposes. Notification of cancellation must be received within at least four weeks of planned surgery, however, emergent reasons for cancellation within four weeks of surgery may be accepted under rare circumstances.

***Please be advised that refunds will only be made at the request of the patient and will be paid directly to the patient.***

Surgical Revision (no charge ) Payment Policies

A refundable $1500 deposit is required to schedule your surgery date. This fee will apply even if revision surgery is offered and planned at no charge. Once a surgical date is scheduled, cancellation or rescheduling within 4 weeks of surgery will result in forfeiture of the $1500 deposit, and an additional $1500 deposit will be required to reschedule the procedure. $1500 deposit will be refunded once the surgery is completed.

If you cannot attend on your confirmed surgery date, your surgery will be canceled, resulting in forfeit of deposit. The rescheduling and cancellation policies and fees will apply as per above.

A Guide to Procedures and Pricing

The prices listed below serve only as a guide to the average estimated costs for the listed procedures. Each patient is unique and requires a consultation in person with Dr. Silverman or Dr. Boyd to determine the complexity of their case and the required time needed to complete the procedure. The ranges below are for information only. Exact fee quotes will be provided once you have been seen and evaluated by your surgeon in consultation and fees may vary based on your individual circumstances.
Additional Fees

Every effort is made to achieve the predicted operating room and anesthesia hours. However, results are NEVER compromised for time. On these rare occasions that the surgery outruns the determined time, you will be billed for additional operating room and anesthesia fees.

You are required to complete all pre-surgical requirements as requested by your surgeon (Labs, ECG, Covid Testing, Etc.). Failing to have these done as outlined in your booking package, may result in delay or cancellation of your surgery. If this occurs, cancellation fees as per above will apply. Fees incurred in obtaining required tests are the responsibility of the patient.
