description

At our boutique practice in Ottawa, HydraFacial is a nonsurgical treatment we are very excited to offer! Available for men and women, the treatment is perfect for our patients who are committed to healthy, beautiful skin. The treatment is performed by our medical aesthetician, who has over 20 years of experience in aesthetics. Below, we’ve included information about the treatment and answers to frequently asked questions.

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a medical-grade hydradermabrasion divided into a three-step regimen – cleansing, exfoliating, and infusing the skin with intensive serums. It differs from traditional dermabrasion by not blasting the skin with grit but instead vacuuming out pores while simultaneously injecting potent actives which moisturize, brighten, plump, and protect.

Who are the Best Candidates for a HydraFacial?

The treatment can be performed on most skin types, including very sensitive complexions. However, those with active rashes, sunburns, or rosacea should abstain from HydraFacials, which can further cause damage or flare-ups. It is excellent for teenagers suffering from acne, adults with pimples, wrinkles, and hyper-pigmentation, and older patients with sun damage and pre-cancerous spots.

What are the Benefits of a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial treatment can improve your skin in a ton of ways. Its many benefits include a more hydrated, bright, plump, clear complexion. It also reduces the signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. It increases firmness, evens tone, texture, and brown spots, and reduces enlarged pores.

What’s the HydraFacial Process?

There are three steps to the HydraFacial process:

Step 1 – Cleanse & Peel – It uses gentle exfoliation to uncover a new layer of skin by removing dead skin cells. A mixture of glycolic acid and salicylic acids delivers the benefits of a peel without the post-peel scaling.

Step 2 – Extract & Hydrate – The HydraFacial removes debris from the pores with painless suction that then introduces a serum that moisturizes, nourishes, and protects with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.

Step 3 – Fuse & Protect – Last in the process is saturating the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximize your glow. Targeted proprietary skin solutions are delivered to address specific skin concerns.

HydraFacial Recovery

One of the many reasons that HydraFacial is so popular is because of the minimal side effects and the virtually zero downtime post-treatment. Expect a slight redness immediately following the treatment, but it should quickly subside.

Following the treatment, you will want to let your skin rest, allow it to soak up all of the benefits of the facial for the rest of the day. You can most likely wear makeup the following day, but it is possible to experience irritation from the customized serums if you have reactive skin.

How Much Does HydraFacial Cost in Ottawa?

The cost of HydraFacial in Ottawa is best discussed during your appointment. The aesthetician will want to meet with you, discuss your aesthetic goals, and make sure this is the best procedure for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How often should I get a HydraFacial?

One treatment per month is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, oily, and congested skin.

  • Does a HydraFacial hurt?

HydraFacials are a non-invasive treatment, meaning that your skin isn’t punctured. There shouldn’t be any pain or discomfort. As funny as it sounds, we’ve heard comparisons of feeling like the first section of the treatment feels like a cat licking your face. That is the level of “discomfort” that could be present during your treatment.

  • How long does it last?

Getting younger-looking skin and reversing the effects of aging and sun damage take consistent treatments and aren’t something you will see overnight. However, after just one treatment, many patients see visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone. The smooth results and the hydration may last five to seven days (maybe longer), but one treatment a month is recommended for improving the fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, oily, and congested skin.
